Commodity Market Strategy 15TH OCT

BASE METAL WRAP: 

Copper futures rose for the third straight session after imports jumped to an 18-month high in China, the world’s biggest user of the metal.

ENERGY WRAP: 

Brent crude slid for a third day as investorsweighed the likelihood that international talks with Iran on the country’s nuclear program may help ease sanctions that have curbed oil exports from the Persian Gulf producer.

PRECIOUS METAL WRAP: 

Gold swung between gains and losses amid speculation that U.S. lawmakers will forge a deal to avoid breaching the nation’s debt ceiling and end a two-week partial government shutdown. Silver dropped for a sixth day.

GLOBAL EVENTS TO WATCH: 

Monetary Policy Meeting Minutes, Fed Chairman Bernanke Speaks, CPI y/y, German ZEW Economic Sentiment, Empire State Manufacturing Index, FOMC Member Dudley Speaks.
